BEYOND MY WORK.
I love getting to know people. Finding out what gets them excited, makes them jump out of bed in the mornings (or keeps them up at night) - discovering what it is that makes them unique.
So I’d like to share a little bit of that with you.
Exploring the world
Ever since I can remember I’ve had a desire to get out and see the world - be it jetting off overseas, finding a new hiking spot, or getting lost along winding roads.
On my most recent adventure, I took off on a solo trip across Europe - running around London, Scotland, Amsterdam, Italy, and France, obviously having the time of my life. The food, the people, the art galleries! I was in heaven.
Here are a few of my favourite moments..
Let’s go thrifting!
My passion for thrifting and all things ‘pre-loved’ started from a very young age, heading to Rozelle markets every weekend with my dad, sneaking BOXES of records into the garage where my mum wouldn’t find them.
And I’ll admit it - I’m addicted to Facebook Marketplace. Forget scrolling through Instagram, this is where it’s at.
Be it online or offline, you’ll find me falling down a digital rabbit hole, or disappearing at the local markets - having run off to find that next piece of treasure. Adding to my wardrobe, filling up my record cabinet, or topping up the ever-growing stack of books in my ‘to read next’ pile.
I’m constantly searching for new pieces (a.k.a treasure hunting), changing up the furniture, adding a touch of personality to a room - most of all I love that every piece has a story behind it.
I first fell in love with the hospitality industry when I was 15, working in a little family-owned pizza restaurant. From there I moved on to work in restaurants and bars across Sydney’s CBD and Inner West - visiting as many venues as I could to soak up inspiration!
I took it all in, and took it home with me. I love hosting, shaking up cocktails for friends, and getting creative in the kitchen - recipes are just guidelines, right?
Eat. Drink. Cook. Repeat.
Arts & Crafts
In my spare time I also love to draw, paint, and even tried my hand at pottery - a very steep learning curve that one was..
I love nothing more than a day in a gallery, or two or three in some cases!
As I travel, I hope to tick off as many small, large, famous, and inconspicuous galleries as I can.
On a recent trip to Brisbane, I visited the Fairytales exhibition at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art - where I indulged in cinematic featurings of old fairy tales, glamorous gowns, and incredible set designs.
